this journal is to restart a practice I had from gr. 3 to university. I have a box of diaries. I need to start again, I think, and though I'd rather put pen to paper, I'm afraid to. I fight with myself all the time about getting rid of my journals. Why keep the past? really, they were only for catharsis, as this will be, to think aloud...to hash things out so no one else has to sit and listen to me being selfish...

I'm 32, married, no kids, work in a library and as a freelance editor, which I'm going to quit doing (the editing), and I'm just starting to find out who I am and what I really value.
